The Founder & Director

Kate Quach

Kate Quach is a teenage storyteller and journalist. As a high schooler, she immerses herself in the passageways of history and literature. Since middle school, she has volunteered at the local senior home and grown to form bonds with each of the residents. During her visits, their conversations connected the stories of two different generations.

Kate is a recipient of Scholastic Art & Writing Gold and the Gerald Dorhmann Poetry Award. As a writer and photojournalist with the Sunset Beacon and Richmond Review newspapers, she has brought oral history to the written word while looking into the eyes and hearts of individuals beyond her community. She currently serves as a PBS media creator and ambassador on KQED’s Youth Advisory Board. She sits on the UC Berkeley Student Advisory Group and has led community history research for the past 4 years.
